I am Gerbert Floor, a filmmaker, director and DOP from the Veluwe in the Netherlands. Through my production company Zout Water I have spent years making commercials, brand films and documentaries for organisations like WWF, FedEx, BBC Storyworks, Compassion and the Kröller-Müller Museum. Increasingly, I make fiction.

I am drawn to real people, available light, and stories of sacrifice and redemption. The people in front of my camera trust me with their most vulnerable moments, and I try to be worthy of that trust. Much of the work is waiting: staying quiet, staying ready, so that when something true walks through the frame, the camera is already there.

Home is near Elburg, where a full house keeps me grounded and grateful. Based there, working anywhere.
