I love stories that matter, and I love telling them. Mainly to my two sons, but the last decade I discovered the miracle that is called film.
As a kid, I wanted to be a weatherman, so that is what I became. But I found out quickly that you predict the weather in a safe and boring office inside, so I became a teacher until I bought a camera. When I discovered the record button it changed my life, and I knew I had found what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.
It did not take long for me to start making little films for people, brands and organisations. After 3 years I quit my job entirely to focus on making films. And it is what I have been doing since then.
I love to collaborate with other creatives, to discover and craft the story. Sometimes that means working in a small but flexible team, and being able to improvise or using the unexpected. While other times it’s about working in larger productions with lots of people and having the means to care about every detail and making it perfect.
Gerbert has been working on films for over 8 years. Back in 2010 he started a company for wedding films and photography with his wife Erika Floor. 3 years later he started Zout Water, which means Salt Water. A small company focused on commercials or documentary films where great story is the focus. He wants to be involved in projects with great aesthetics and artistry.
